How do the mini sessions work?

Mini sessions take place in an outdoor location determined by Alison. They are designed to be quick and easy family sessions – perfect for holiday cards, save the dates or just to document your family at a particular point in time.

How long does each session last?

Each mini session will last 15 minutes. We start and end right on time so please be ready to go for your time slot. Unfortunately, if you are late, we won’t be able to make up that time.

Who can I include in my mini session?

We allow up to five beings for each mini session. This could be a combination of children, adults and pets. If you have more than five beings, please book multiple back-to-back sessions. For example, if you have two adults, three children and two dogs, please book two back-to-back mini sessions. Some examples of fun mini session combinations include engaged couple with pets, multiple generation photo including baby, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, grandparents with grandchildren, children only.

What is included in the session fee?

The session fee includes the photo portrait time with Alison and a private online gallery of 5 or more final images. These images are lightly retouched and both color and black and white versions are provided. You will be able to download the high res image files without watermark.

What happens if the weather doesn’t cooperate?

Currently, all mini sessions offered will take place outside. If the weather forecast does not look good, you will be contacted at least one day prior to your session with a rescheduling option or full refund option. Indoor session options are coming soon.

What happens if I need to cancel my session?

Unfortunately, all sessions are non-refundable. If you are unable to make the session, you can transfer or gift it to someone else. If you know in advance, please email me to let me know of the change. It will be your responsibility to share all logistical information with the new family.

How can I best prepare my children for the session?

Please keep your child’s temperament in mind for the shoot. Avoid long car rides or fighting prior to the session. You know your child’s routine best, so I highly recommend booking the session when your children tend to be happiest – morning or afternoon, maybe after a nap or snack. Try to talk to your kids about the session beforehand – build it up as a special experience and perhaps schedule a fun activity/treat after the session. I do my best to engage everyone and have a lot of tricks up my sleeve.

What should we wear?

I’m a big fan of expression of personal style so wear clothes that you love. If you are really stuck, neutrals and cohesive color palettes for everyone in the session are always safe bets.

Can we do an outfit change?

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate an outfit change during one mini session. If you would like to change your clothes, please book two back-to-back sessions.

Do you allow props?

Yes. If your child has a favorite toy, feel free to bring it. If you’re using the session to document a special occasion (for example, first birthday, sharing news of pregnancy, save the date for a wedding, holiday card…) feel free to bring props. Just please have them ready to go at the start of your session.

What should we bring to the session?

Please bring your confirmation/receipt and obviously, yourselves!

When should we arrive?

Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your session. This will give you plenty of time to check in and get settled. If you arrive earlier than 10 minutes, please be respectful of other ongoing sessions so as not to disrupt them.

What products do you offer?

Printed images are the best! From your gallery, you will be able to order professional prints in all types of sizes, but you can also make your own prints at any lab with your high res files.
